A collection of images sent to us by a reader, with surreal portraits and landscapes…anyone know the genius behind these? These would do Salvador Dali proud…or is it Dali after all? Someone tell us…we’re in awe!

Someone put together some slideshows of this art and the art of Jim Warren. It is being distributed via email as Dali’s art (I got it last week in email) and on several websites. There isn’t a single Dali image in the mix. For someone who doesn’t know Dali’s work, this can be very confusing.
I personally like both Kush and Warren far better than any of Dali’s work.
I thought this was the most beautiful email I’ve ever received. Also for the choice of music (Vangellis’s “Conquest of Paradise”) to go with it was awesome. I love Dali so loved these paintings. Found some of them with “V K” as the signature and found Vladimir Kush on the Internet. Fabulous! Will look up Jim Warren too – thanks Shirl, didn’t know who the second artist was!. I also can’t understand why it was sent out as Dali’s stuff – probably because he was the best known surrealist painter of all time!

If you like Vladimir Kush art you will love Lenny art. Google it. Lenny is another Surreal Artist that have allot of cool staff.

Couldn’t say it any better than Tom. I think these kitsch, non-surrealist paintings would have Dali scornfully trembling in his grave. Dali often discounted the works of his contemporaries, rightfully claiming that he alone was surrealism. Even Picasso’s work; in spite of its large influence on a young Dali, was ugly to him. Kush’s technique is sound but his content is pure sentimental garbage with surrealist-inspired overtones. Dali was a genius; Kush simply and quite greedily borrows elements invented and exploited by Dali nearly a century ago. There will never be room for Kush in the history of art; which itself is not entirely a bad thing, but for Kush it is.
Wow, seriously these are pretty good. I like #1, the one with the glasses, and the apple…well actually I like quite a few of them. I think you’re right, Dali would also smile at a few of these.
